emotive day today.

went to work and had a really positive review. spent a lot of this week helping promote the british egas essentials project, so if your involoved with RNIB or talking newspapers and societies, chances you'll hear all about it.

Saw soph properly last night ion ages. That was good. easier than I thought. we sat, actually cozied up somewhat. regardless... and perhaps I should just not even be writing this, but think in one way or another I'll always love Soph, she's someone still very precious to me despite what ever else anyone says, thinks or does.

so, tomorrow its my birthday! mainly spending it with family and local friends, a trifle dissapointed some pals for one reason or another can't celebrate with me, but not to worry!

after that its all plain sailing till christmas. Have christmas dinner with emma and friends next week, kate's going to be there, needless to say in utter brutal honesty I'm not over the moon about the facts, but equally I ain't out to bother anybody.

that's that!

Currrent Mood: brandy with hot chocolate! (sounds horrible but its ace)

i! am! back!

in carmer fassion, had a grate time in turkey. spent all my days sunbathing, drinking plenty of laga and generally thinking absolutely yeh to the facts...

so, what next? well, back to work tomorrow, and then birthday and christmas next.
Though I perhaps don't seem so on the surface, Generally I'm feeling very optimistic at moment. I've decided taht those ladies who want a piece of the Goodfellow are frankly going to have to wait, <grin> as time away from stuff gave me time to reflect, I've set my heart on three main goals of equal priority, those being to concentrate on securing my posission with the RNIB. I'll also be looking to get my housing situation tied down by April, as my ccurrent flatmates are moving on, and to enjoy what will deffinately be a promising year with family, what with my sister having the new baby around that very same time.

it Goes without saying I'm still around, ready to rumble, and generally engage with what ever life throws at me, so onwards, upwards.

take care
J G

ok! long time no update but life got interesting recently so here goes!

Seeing famly last friday. Had a good weekend in Blackpool. On Wednesday I gave a talk to a load of computer sceince students at John Moor's university. I was talking generally about website accesibility, demonstrating how jaws worked on the web as well as showing some of the problems we have like captcha's. That went really really well!

Thursday went to theatre with Kelly one of my old school mates. We saw 'the caretaker' - it was a really heavy, serious play. We got a touch tour plus got to meet the cast, meeting Jonathan Price who apparrently is somewhat famous was brilliant!

Friday I was out drinking with my coleagues in to the early hours, had a hell of a good night! I'm now back in Blackpool writing this and set for next week. My workmate is off to Australia so covering extra work which will keep me busy.

That will do for now

J

right. a bit of a longer update!

firstly Kate. had the nerve to send me a mesage asking me to leave emma out of things, absolutely fine but that's a cheek as it was her not I who braught Emma in to things in the first place. Why do some people not understand the word 'leave me alone?'

less of *her* now time for things in general, i.e the good interesting stuff

firstly, things seem to be slowly picking up at work. that's good as stuff's been quiet for a while, helps the day go quicker when things are busy.

Emma, kelly and I Went out to the theatre on Thursday night. It was an audio described version of 'kes' - adapted from the film and book by the same name. It was good if not a we bit over dramatic in parts.

Friday saw me on the train for a long overdue visit to the family in Blackpool. On Sunday it was the old man's birthday, me and him went and had a good long drink to celabrate. despite someone trying to rob my wallet, and failing miserably we had a good time. Yesterday the family went out for a meal. we lit a lantern whichn floated off in to the sky to remember Gary the ghost by. this got tanled in some power cables, which I thought was quite funny, thing Gary would have laughed a bit anyhow.

today I've booked tickets for the Manchester airporet train as we're off to Turkey on 10th November. I'm really looking forward as it will get me away from thigs and will be a good brake.

just like to say Happy birthday to mine and Emma's mate Kelly. Hopefully see you for another play very soon, there is an audio described performance on the 22nd October which we are possibly all looking at going to

Till next time

Jack

in short, finished with Kate. the truth: I feel relieved, considering how she kept telling me how things were not good but could never actually tell me what, nore the fact that she never seemed to actually give a toss about coming up here to see me, always me wanting to put the effort in, arrange stuff etc, never felt she had any oppinion or not one that was willing to be shared.

at least now I can concentrate on just other stuff, without having her permanently causing me upset. even much further down the line, find someone who really knows what they're looking for, and what they want out of a relationship and life in general.

if said person is reading, good luck with the job applications etc you'll need it. You've lost someone who wanted and would give you everything possible - your choice to leave all that behind not mine.
I'll post a more interesting general entry here soon.

J

writing to clear my mind

ok - a bit rambly tis may be, but that is because put simply things are mixed.

firstly, the good stuff. had another grate week at work. today I went to Fleetwood with Jodi today, had a good chippy. really enjoyed that.

and now where to start. found out my flat mates were off to Hereford for a bit. All I'll say is it would have been bloody nice to have maybe been invited, rather than me finding out all over bloody facebook!

this ties in with my second thing really. I honestly don't know about some people. by that, I mean their were people who I felt could turn to and talk about anything. people who i thought were friends for life as it were.

in short, I feel that slowly, but surely my circle of good friends is really deminishing. no names mentioned, but their are those who I'm trying my hardest to stay in touch with, and frankly who just don't recipricate or seemed bothered. This saddens me immensely.
this also ties in with my situation with Katy - call me stupid but I've deleted her number off my phone, so I wont bow to pressure and do all the calling. because, again, I want more effort on that front. Again, I don't want to feel like I'm permanently doing all the running round. Just what the hell have I done to seemingly alienate people?

That's all for now.

I'm fully aware things have been quiet this neck of the woods for a while which really is not always a bad thing. life is plodding along. I'm still enjoying the job and had a good holiday. Am at home in Blackpool at the moment till Tuesday seeing family. Main tasks outside work seem to be mainly chilling with Emma J my good ol flat mate, and reading books in the wheel of time saga. I am aware that I'm probably not on my pc/msn as half as much as I once was. I have a conflict in taht most of my mates use these as a primary communication tool, but sitting at a desk all day on a pc i'm not always inclined to come home and do more of the same. still anyone who wants/ needs a natter is welcome to get in touch via other channels.

Take easy

J

I like to stay in touch, but when I'm scroling through pages of random, nonsensicle replies to others who use that service I just feel like I'm wasting my spare time. that's not to say its not a bad tool, just should not imho be used in an LJ context. its all fine if the tweets make sense, often they just don't!

and that's at nobody in particular btw guys and gals nothing personal at all.

J

eye tests

An eye test checks your general eye health and your sight to see if you need glasses. Having a regular eye test can also help detect sight-threatening eye conditions, many of which can be successfully treated if detected early.

Your eyes might look great and your eyesight might be fine, but that doesn't mean your eyes are healthy.

Some sight-threatening conditions, such as glaucoma, have no symptoms and could cause you to lose up to 40 per cent of your sight before you notice a difference. An eye test could pick up these conditions and save your sight.

stop undermining me - its *me* who works in blindness support, its me who has the qualifications and on the job experience, it is me who's learning how newly blind people actually cope in a day to day situation, not you, stick to what your good at.

J

just to get this off my chest

despite me working - people should still feel free to call. i know their are those out there who might think by calling during the day they're pestering me. far from the case. fact is if i don't answer i will *always* return a call - no problem. if people need to talk then they need to talk and that's that.

best
Jack

an update from me

Hi allWednesday I started my new job! first day out of the three I've worked thus far was the trickiest, what with learning a new building and new people. Yet its fair to say everyone is really friendly down there - all went out of my way to make me feel welcome.put simply - I think i'll enjoy what I'll be doing. I'm just so absolutely happy to be working at long last. As I've said here previously and to friends, all my hard work has now payed off. Today, went in to Liverpool city centre with Joe, kelly and Holly. had a good day catching up with them all, and headed home to Blackpool arriving at seven. To be honest just feel weird, at this exact moment. things are very quiet on line, still guess it is Saturday night. am also missing a certain someone (absolutely no prises for guessing who)That's all for nowJack
